Project Description:

Eagle River Watershed Council and Eagle County Open Space are seeking volunteers to help enhance riparian habitat by employing processed based restoration through building low-tech structures along Brush Creek on the Brush Creek Valley Ranch & Open Space property in Eagle, CO. The goal of the project is to restore stream complexity and prevent future degradation.

This project will take place Saturday Oct 1 & Sunday Oct 2 from 9am – 3pm. Lunch will be provided both days.

Volunteers should expect to get wet, as work will take place in the creek, and the work will be fairly arduous (moving heavy objects like logs, working in the sun with minimal shade, working on unstable footing).

What to bring:

  • Sturdy closed toed shoes (no sandals or flip flops)
  • Waders -optional but nice have
  • Gloves – there will be gloves provided as well, but if you have ones you like feel free to bring them
  • Long sleeves & long pants
  • Sun Protection – optional but recommended, sunscreen, sun hat, sunglasses
  • Warm Layer – bring layers to be prepared for changing weather conditions
  • Water – there will be a water cooler to refill bottles
  • Snacks – Lunch will be provided but bring your favorite snacks
  • A good attitude & willingness to work hard!

Due to the arduous nature of the project, we are seeking volunteers who are at least 14 years of age. You will be asked to complete a waiver at time of registration. Details (where to meet, what to bring, etc.) will be sent to the email address you provide.
