Through a variety of channels, the Watershed Council strives to provide the community with the knowledge needed to help keep our watershed healthy. By hosting engaging events and presentations and creating newsletters and articles packed with relevant content, we hope to create a community of water stewards.
We also provide educational resources and quick reference guides for use by the community, such as the basics of water law, life in the riparian zone and the functions of a healthy watershed, along with more in-depth, learn-on-your-own options with curriculum and YouTube videos.
Our programming is dynamic, allowing us to meet the changing needs of our watershed and our community. Read on to learn about some of our ongoing programs.
The Watershed Council hosts a Watershed Immersion series annually. The events in the series cover a wide range of topics in a variety of formats. We love sharing water knowledge! Past events include tours, hikes, presentations from experts and more. (The series was previously known as Watershed Wednesdays.)
We offer workshops to provide skills and education that participants can apply professionally and at home. Our workshops may be eligible for Continuing Education credits, and focus on everything from water law to constructing and installing rain barrels.
